Jeremy Elrod, a Bay Area native, has a wealth of service and experience in US Military Special Operations and the private security industry. Mr. Elrod joined the United States Army following the attacks of September 11, 2001. His first unit (following basic training, Airborne School and the Ranger Indoctrination Program) was the Army’s elite 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He deployed to both Afghanistan and Iraq. During his services in Ranger Battalion, he conducted numerous combat missions— including hostage rescues, raids and direct action operations. He earned the Expert Marksmanship, Expert Infantryman, and Combat Infantryman badges, and was decorated for his actions under fire in Iraq.
After completing active duty, he served in the reserve component of the Army as a training Instructor for the Army National Guard and as member of the 160th Long Range Surveillance Detachment. While a serving with the California National Guard Mr. Elrod conducted Counter-Drug and Counter-Terrorism operations. He has been chief instructor for many firearms training courses. In addition to training soldiers, he has also trained SWAT members, law enforcement officers, first responders and civilians in diverse firearm and tactical subjects.
Because of his knowledge of firearms and firearms training, he can help re-create firearms related crime scenes, identify failure to train issues and conduct other use- of- force investigations. Mr. Elrod could be called as an expert witness in firearms.
Mr. Elrod also has extensive experience in the private security field, having worked as the head of security at a popular night club in San Diego as well as having been employed in disaster response and executive protection detail roles. He is also an expert in the laws and protocols of the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. His understanding of the Bureau’s complexities and requirements helps Spencer Elrod Services in security guard related private investigations and in identifying liability issues related to this subject.
He has vast experience with Surveillance in Walnut Creek and throughout California. His experience also makes him knowledgeable on many business and personal risk management and other security issues.
